The rust eraser is easy to use to remove rust or other stubborn stains from knives: wet the rust eraser with water before use. Identify the direction of the knife steel "grain" (you will see lines on the knife steel) and, following the vein, gently rub back and forth until the rust or stain disappears. Always rinse and dry your knife thoroughly after use.
NOTE: Rubbing too hard or too long can weaken the steel and cause more rust to develop. Use the oxide eraser carefully and only where necessary.
